Yes, you may have searched beyond the first or second page before and clicked on some links, but I wouldn’t bet that most of your customers are. If you want more business, your website has to be on the first page, bottom line.

Website marketing is a combination of the following: Keyword Research, Natural SEO (search engine optimization), Pay per click (PPC, which are the sponsored listings that you see at the top and right side of Google, Yahoo, and Bing), and SEO maintenance. Some people hate to mess with PPC marketing but it is one of the fastest ways to attain top search engine results on the web, but it is also one of the quickest ways to go broke if you are not doing it right. Getting to the top of natural search engine results is the hard part most of the time, then maintaining it usually requires less effort, but does still require work.
